The Category 9 Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom sleeps 3 or 4 people and is the same size as the category 10’s with a similar layout and features.
Category 1A – Concierge Royal Suite w/ Verandah (Disney Dream, Fantasy, Magic, & Wonder cruise ships)
If you are prone to seasickness you may want to make a different choice. This is a bit of a confusing title if you are familiar with the Navigator’s Verandah on the Disney Classic Ships, the Wonder and the Magic. On those ships, the Navigator’s Verandah is a very distinctive enclosed verandah. Just remember to check is and take everything with you on Disembarkation Day. It is a 22″ Flat Screen Television which is mounted on a tilting arm. This means you can angle it to watch in either the sleeping or the living area.
Category 7 – Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Navigator’s Verandah (All Disney Cruise Ships)
This is more of a twin-sized bed, and is perfect for a child or small adult. This offers both sides privacy, as well as a bit more darkness for sleeping. There are different theories to this, but generally, if you get sea sick you will want a stateroom with a verandah so you can breathe in fresh air or a room with a porthole.

The desk is where you’ll find the majority of the room’s various outlets, USB-A ports, and hairdryer plug. Inside the left cabinet of the desk is a mini fridge, which is very useful if you’re bringing beverages or other food back to the room. One of our favorite aspects of a Disney Cruise Line stateroom is the bedside lamps. Upon entering the room is the queen-sized bed, complete with white linens and a navy Disney Cruise Line-themed bed runner. These are identical to the other Category 5 staterooms, but they have a larger balcony. The ones for 4 guests have the extra pull-down bunk bed over the sofa bed. These are identical to the Category 6 Staterooms except they have the clear perspex Verandah wall. They are a total of 268 square feet including the Verandah and they all have the split bath.
The Disney Dream and Fantasy ships feature a Magical Porthole with real-time views, but the other ships do not have exterior views. Deluxe Inside Staterooms have a split bathroom, with one half having a sink and a shower, and the other half having a toilet and a sink. A, B, and C subcategories are assigned according to their locations, with A subcategories on upper decks or closer to midship, while C subcategories are on lower decks.
If you’re sailing for a week or more, then a smaller, enclosed stateroom space might start to feel unduly claustrophobic. Verandah staterooms are almost always more expensive that other non-concierge rooms – that alone might make the decision for you. Some people don’t like that deck as it is directly under the pool deck so that you get some noise from above.
Guests with lower deck verandahs may be seen from the verandahs above them. Some guests prone to motion sickness find that ready access to the wind and brisk ocean air settles their stomachs. If you’re in this category, a verandah could be a must for you. On a short sailing of fewer than five nights, you might be able to power through with, say, an inside stateroom.
Category 3A and 3B – Concierge Family Oceanview Stateroom w/ Verandah (Disney Dream, Fantasy, Magic, & Wonder)
The sink in this bathroom also comes with H2O+ Beauty sea salt facial soap for you to wash your face. There are two towel racks in this bathroom, giving you plenty of space to hang your wet towels. Here’s a look at the room divider fully extended, which helps to separate the bed from the sleeper sofa on the other side of the room. On the right side of the bed are the only bedside plugs for any electronics, so good to keep in mind if you charge your phone at night while sleeping. However, bear in mind that the Alaskan glaciers and Norwegian fjords offer more varied, and possibly more interesting, scenery than endless ocean views.
